"DIAGONAL
LIGHT"
Trøndelag
Kunstnersenter,
Trondheim, Norway. 1995
The installation
"Diagonal light" stands in an rectangular space with windows on
one long wall.
The dimensions of the space are 6 x 12 metres. The work is a
large light screen that divides the space in two longwise.
It stretches from one short wall to the other for 12 metres and divides
the room diagonally in light and dark parts.
It hides the windows and makes the light part of the space unaccessible
to the public.
The screen "dams" the light from the windows and leaks it out through a
narrow, wedge formed slit along the floor.
Materials - laths and hard woodchip painted with
white latex paint.
